The best Ethiopian restaurant in LA. Lots of vegan as well as meat choices. The prices are very reasonable by LA standards.

Food: We ordered the Veggie Combo with Fish, topped with Zizil Tibs (Braised beef with pepper), Yebeg Aletcha Wot (Mild lamb stew), and Kitfo (Minced raw beef in spices and butter, cooked medium rare). The platter itself is so esthetically pleasing. So colorful. The flavors were mind-blowing. I enjoyed all the veggie selections. My favorite meat was the Zizil tibs, and Yebeg Aletcha wot comes in second. However, I find Kitfo to be an acquired taste. Injera (Flatbread) is an amazing discovery for me. It has this bouncy, spongy-like texture and a slight sourish taste to it. The sponginess soaks up gravies and flavors, making its consumption unique and tasty. Service: Good Ambiance: Clean and Casual. There were standard dining tables and lower cushioned seating suitable for larger groups. I do find the lower seating comfortable to sit in but a little difficult to eat in.

My friend recommended this place for dinner last night and I am so glad! Let me preface this by saying, parking is a nightmare. The metered spaces outside were full and the neighborhoods are permit only, so there was about 20 minutes of circling. Just factor in the time. However, once parked, we entered and were greeted by a very sweet server. We had just made it before their kitchen closed around 8pm and got the chance to order. We started with the samosas, which are such a generous size, so incredibly savory, and that jalapeño sauce. Wow! It is perfection and oh so spicy! Then we shared the veggie plate, which basically comes with a sample of every vegetarian dish, and a hefty serving of bread. You'd think it wouldn't be enough but we were so full and yet you cannot stop eating it is so good! The bread is so fresh with a tangy kick. The seasonings enliven each vegetable sample, and, we were so impressed by even the salad and dressing. All in all, a successful friend date with a wonderful dinner, housed in a spacious and yet cozy atmosphere (with a clean bathroom too)! I highly recommend this place for anyone in the area.
